Film, food, fashion, music - it's all culture... Popular Instagram account No Filler cuts through the internet noise with weekly lists from curator Anthony Remedy and guest creatives based at home and abroad. Anthony brings you his latest list below...
1. Writer Amy Francombe's latest substack, Frugal chic and the morality of shopping. Amy is one of my fave writers and nearly all the time (which means all the time) describes feelings I have in a coherent thoughtful way. "Now it's about curating your purchases with monk-like restaint and asserting that your standards are so high that only the truly worthy make it into your life". She has done it again, this is exactly how I think and act. And clearly she is miles better at me at describing it. Read here.
2. The Beatles and the Stones... Villalobos and Hawtin... McQueen and Galliano... For a certain cinemagoer over the last 25 years, it's Paul Thomas Anderson and Quentin Tarantino. Our guys! PTA’s latest film is getting gushing reviews from all the right places and is coming in so hot, it has Best Picture and Best director written all over it. We can argue after which film he should have won for after he picks up his little gold man next Jan. The answer is of course Boogie Nights. One Battle After Another opens nationally Friday 26th Sept. And FYI - its playing in IMAX and in 70mm in at the IFI. I will probably see it 3 times (not overdoing it).
3. Whilst we wait for the next Spike Jonze film (don't hold your breath), I'm very happy that Gucci persuaded him and Dutch director Halina Reijn to shoot The Tiger, a new short film for the Italian brand. Demi Moore, Edward Norton, Alex Consani, Ed Harris, Kendall Jenner and many more star, all wearing pieces from new creative director Demna’s first Gucci collection. Reminding me of a White Lotus episode, especially the score, it's (thankfully) more substantial than just "branded content". Will it rekindle your love of Gucci after a rough couple of years? Thats up to you, but the film is certainly worth a look.
4. Culture Pigs, new podcast from Kate Demolder and Rory Cashin. Enjoyable easy breezy podcast with smart pop culture takes. I like it!

5. DJ Harvey and the late Andrew Weatherall, playing back to back, via Resident Advisor. Over 3 hours. Extraordinary.

6. Lunch at Chapter One, Dublin. Was there in August, and yet again, here I am stating the obvious, but truth. It is one of the best things (never mind restaurants) we have in the country, bar none. The third star is coming...
7. Editor of @showstudio, Hetty Mahlich's reels give probably the most in-depth and intellectual analysis of a fashion show by anyone I follow. Forget most of the rest - an essential follow on Insta.
8. One of the best UK house DJs, Luke Una plays on the beautiful Fidelity sound system on Oct 11th.
9. Countdown to Paris and Milan fashion weeks. Possibly the once in a lifetime shuffle of creative directors for luxury brands like Loewe, Bottega Veneta, Chanel, Balenciaga, Givenchy and many more. But for us wearing the green jersey, all eyes on irishman Jonathan Anderson, now creative director of Dior, who is presenting his first women’s line. This is a huge deal for creativity in Ireland - JWA has reached the summit. What an achievement...
10. The Red Hot Chili Peppers episode of 60 Songs that Explain the 90s podcast. Podcast host and long-time music writer Rob Harvilla draws from his own slick and skuzzy wealth of music knowledge to deliver banger after banger episode-wise, discussing (you guessed it) songs that explain the 90s:2000s. He is genuinely funny and often self-deprecating. I find myself actually LOL'ing at wild music stories when walking around the aisles of Aldi, like a weirdo (I'm okay with that). So many great episodes, but the recent-ish' one exploring the Chilli Pepper's Cant Stop rules.
