Passengers got out to push a train

Hundreds of rail passengers in India had to give the electric train they were riding on a push after it lost power from the overhead wires.

The train in the eastern state of Bihar had stopped in a 'neutral zone' after a passenger pulled the emergency chain.

Normally, a train's momentum allows it to continue through such zones.

This time, however, passengers had to push the train 4m to the next stretch of live wires.

A spokesman for Indian Railways said: 'In so many years of service in the railways, I have never come across such a bizarre incident.'
