Ms Sohrabi was the mother of two young children who attend Scoil Mhuire primary school in Clifden.

She came to Ireland from Iran in 2024 and lived at Waterloo House IPAS centre.

Residents of the centre, who reported her missing on Wednesday night, said that she was loved by everyone and they were devastated to learn of her death.

House Manager of the centre, PK Joyce, described Ms Sohrabi as a "wonderful person" who came to Ireland to make a new life for herself and her family.

He said that she had settled in well and was a popular member of the community.
