Though she only entered the Celebrity Big Brother house last week, Gillian Taylforth has been linked to a new role in Hollyoaks.
The Daily Star Sunday reports that the actress, best known for playing Kathy Beale in EastEnders, has been in talks with Hollyoaks executives and has been invited to join the soap on a long-term contract.
The paper quotes the 57-year-old actress as saying: "I'm nervous but I'm also really looking forward to it.
"It was a big decision as I have been away from soaps for a long time. But it's a long contract so it will be nice to settle back into something."
However, a spokesperson for the show told Digital Spy that while the soap has been in discussions with Taylforth, nothing is confirmed at present.
