CMAT announced that The Late Late Toy Show viewers donated over €4m to the Toy Show Appeal during Friday night's show.

The Dublin singer made a surprise appearance at the end of the show, fresh from performing at her sold-out gig at Dublin's 3Arena.

Since the Toy Show Appeal's inception in 2020, viewers have donated in record numbers - with this year being no different.

As this year's action-packed show drew to a close, host Patrick Kielty invited popstar CMAT to reveal the total amount donated on the night - a whopping €4,003,179.

This brings the total raised by the fund in the last five years to over €30m.

The Toy Show Appeal was inspired by Saoirse Ruane from Kiltullagh, Co Galway, who won the hearts of the nation with her appearance on The Late Late Toy Show in 2020.

Saoirse passed away in March 2024, yet her enduring legacy continues with the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal. A special Saoirse star sat on top of the Toy Show Christmas tree which could be seen at the start of the show.

This year's Late Late Toy Show was a suitably spectactular affair, featuring plenty of laughs, tears and heartwarming moments along the way.

The Grinch-themed show got off to a stellar start with the gravelly tones of Liam Neeson providing the voiceover for the opener. "Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store, maybe Christmas means something more..."

From high-tempo musical performances of earworms like APT by Bruno Mars and Rosé, Killeagh by Kingfishr, a KPop Demon Hunters mash-up and, ahem, Steve's Lava Chicken from the Minecraft movie, to a gorgeous choral rendition of CMAT's Stay for Something from the Virgin Mary Girls School Choir, the pace never dropped throughout the almost 2.5 hour runtime.
