Two Weeks Notice is box office No 1

'Two Weeks Notice', starring Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant, has topped the UK and Ireland box office on its first weekend of release.

The romantic comedy knocked last week’s No 1 'Catch Me If You Can' into second place.

'Catch Me If You Can' stars Leonardo DiCaprio as real-life forger Frank Abagnale and is directed by Steven Spielberg. It has taken a total of €11m in ten days.

Horror sequel 'Final Destination 2' debuted at number two on the chart, outperforming the original film.

Animated kids film 'The Wild Thornberrys Movie' was at four, followed by Oscar nominations topper 'Chicago' at five.

New release 'Punch-Drunk Love' opened at number thirteen, while 'Narc' starring Ray Liotta and Jason Patric failed to make the chart.
