Paris Jackson, daughter of the late pop-superstar Michael Jackson, shared her childhood memories with Ellen DeGeneres in a rare televised interview for The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

During the interview which will air in the US later today the 13-year-old claimed that she still "has a chance to be normal" despite her late father's phenomenal fame.

"I do have a regular childhood," she told Ellen. "I mean, I'm treated the same. When I came to my new school they didn't know who I was. I was like, 'Yes, I have a chance to be normal'."

She revealed that her father was a constant source of advice which she remembers even though he's now gone.

"He said, 'If I die tomorrow, always remember what I told you.' I took his advice, and I remembered everything he told me."

Paris also discussed the masks her father made her and her two brothers wear when they went out with him in public.

"I'm like, 'This is stupid, why am I wearing a mask?'" she told DeGeneres. "But I kind of realised the older I got, like, he only tried to protect us and he'd explain that to us too."
