The Beach Boys are set to lose some of their founding and long-time members this week.
Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks will leave the band, it has been announced by Mike Love, who controls the Beach Boys name and ownership.
The New York Times reports that the members departure will commence after the band have completed their 50th anniversary tour at London's Wembley Arena tonight (September 28).
Love said: "The 50th Reunion Tour was designed to be a set tour with a beginning and an end to mark a special 50-year milestone for the band."
Wilson responded to the announcement, saying: "I'm disappointed and can't understand why he doesn't want to tour with Al, David, and me.
"We are out there having so much fun. After all, we are the real Beach Boys."
The Beach Boys reunited earlier this year for a worldwide tour and recorded a new album, That's Why God Made the Radio.
An online petition has been launched by fans against the decision, saying that they want to "preserve the validity of the Beach Boys as a whole, and not as a money-saving, stripped-down version".
