Afghanistan talent competition dominated by Canadian lookalike

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's lookalike is stealing the show at Afghanistan's equivalent of X Factor Afghan Star.

The resemblance of Abdul Salam Maftoon to the Canadian, despite his two gold front teeth, has cast him to the fore of the competition.

The wedding singer who comes from Badakhshan had never heard of the Canadian leader, deemed as one of the more attractive leaders of the world.

Speaking to journalists he said: "People have forgotten my name and now they just call me 'Justin Trudeau'," Maftoon told AFP, his self-conscious smile revealing two gold-plated front teeth.

"I didn't know anything about Justin Trudeau until I saw the photos on social media.
