New Yaris and Auris HSD Launched

Big news for Toyota buyers as the bigger and much improved 3rd generation Yaris is launched at a starting price of €14,760.

Yaris is one of the core superminis on sale in Ireland and as such must be good – and the new car doesn’t disappoint. It is more substantial, lower and wider, with a bigger boot and plenty of room in the cabin.

On a brief test-drive Yaris proved to be not bad on the road either. VSC (Toyota’s name for ESC/ESP) is now standard as is traction control, plus there are seven airbags too. Petrol power comes from 1 and 1.33 litre engines while a 1.4 D4D diesel engine option is available. Trim levels are still called the same as before (Terra, Luna & Sol) but the very popular mid-spec Luna looses Air conditioning in favour of a lower asking price of just €15,295 for the three-door version.

Auris buyers who want to hold the moral high ground by driving a low emission hybrid can now spend €24,925 on the entry level Auris HSD. A ‘LUX’ version costs €27,340 and comes with a host of extras.
