The legendary American musician Ray Charles has died in California at the age of 73.
Mr Charles, who is considered a pioneer of soul music, was best known for hits like 'Georgia On My Mind' and 'Take these Chains from my heart'.
His publicist said the singer - who was blinded at the age of seven - died of complications from liver disease.
The 12-time Grammy winner played his 10,000th concert in May of last year.
