Management changes - McConnell to retire in June

Irish Life and Permanent has announced a number of changes to the group's senior management team.

Denis Casey has been appointed Chief Executive of Permanent TSB, the group's banking business. He is currently CEO of Irish Life (Retail) and succeeds Brian McConnell, who is to retire at the end of June.

McConnell consolidated the merger of Irish Permanent and TSB Bank. He had been due to retire in 2006.

Kevin Murphy has been named as Casey's replacement at Irish Life (Retail). He is currently CEO of Irish Life Investment Managers.

He will be replaced there by Gerry Keenan, currently Director of Investment Development at Irish Life Investment Managers.

IL&P's Group CEO David Went said the changes being made today allow the broadening of the experience of senior executives in the context of the group's overall succession planning.
