Paul Herriott returns to the stage of the National Concert Hall in Dublin for the National Symphony Orchestra 2024-2025 Season. There's nothing like a seat in the concert hall but, if you can't make it there, fear not as Paul will bring you an incredible line up of live concerts featuring international and Irish conductors and soloists.
Highlights include cellist Steven Isserlis playing Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 2 to American conductor Leonard Slatkin leading his 80th birthday celebration in which he conducts the world premiere of his son Daniel Slatkin’s new work Voyager 130. Hugh Tinney plays Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4, Lise de la Salle performs Rachmaninov’s much-loved Piano Concerto No. 2, Jonathan Biss plays Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and violinist Simone Lamsma brings us Brahms’s Violin Concerto, all popular favourites with our listeners and audiences alike.
Of course, major musical anniversaries will be marked also in the season amongst them so many great composers including Puccini, Ravel, Strauss II, Stanford, Bruckner and Shostakovich. Tune in Fridays from 7pm to RTÉ lyric Live with Paul Herriott or listenback whenever you want.
