After a shaky start, Scotland's Andy Murray booked his place in Sunday's Men's Singles final at the Australian Open when seeing off his Croation opponent Marin Cilic, 3-6 6-4 6-4 6-2.

And so Andy Murray survives a shaky openening to book a place in the decider. Pundits will argue that the Scot was not at his best, but as in most sports, semi-finals are oftern ugly and are there to be won.

However, Cilic first serve has delivered consecutive Aces. It's gripping suff. Murray chance to win game - but did not know whether to smash or pass. The ball wrestled in the net. Long game this one. The singlets are getting sweatier. Cilic''s second serve is closed down well by Murray, but the Briton, sorry Scot, still can't get to grips with the first. It's now avantage Cilic and he finishes out the deal having survived four break points.

Back in London, Sue Barker and Tim Henman are of the view that if Murray can regain his composure, he will triumph. Second set about to start.

The BBC commentators feel that this match will be a marathon not a sprint. A situation, they feel, will favour Murray. Cilic in command in game eight. He's on game point. Cilic's first ace is confirmed by Hawkeye.

However, Murray storms back by upping the pace and now has break point - Scottish resilience to the fore, but Cilic his playing the break points well. Deuce. Avantage Murray as Cilic hits a wild one. I'll do better myself! Only joking. Cilic angled effort gets slowed down by hitting the net. Murray can't react. Deuce again. Cilic make Andy run and run and run in the next service and follows up with a brilliant passing shot to lead 4-2.

It's a sticky night in Melbourne and Murray is in a liitle bit of bother on his serve. He's 0-40 down and the Croat has a break. The Scots fight and a brilliant lob by Murray over his 6'6 opponent gives him game point. However, Cilic with a brilliant passing shot and he gives Murray the runaround in the next service game for break point. Murray resaponds by slamming home his first ace. Back come Cilic with a superb overhand volloy and the Scot faces his fifth break point and then Murray hits a long one and it's a break for Cilic.

It's a sell-out crowd in the Rod Laver Arena as Cilic serves in game three. Cilic's first serve is a bit wobbly in this game, but he holds form. He seems to be handling Murray's baseline game well.
